Is it really safe/secure to do online banking in private browsing using Wi-Fi with the https: and Firefox security blue or green on the left at the top? Is it safe/secure to check my banking/credit account online over the hotel wi-fi connection? Is it more secure if my laptop was connected with wire rather than using the wireless connection?

Thanks for the link. There is also the Private Browsing feature to use, but I am still wondering how safe it is even with the security mentioned in the link.

Private Browsing has nothing to do with safety.

Private Browsing only prevents Firefox from storing data from the current session on disk.
