I had been using the computer for a few hours when I noticed my bookmarks toolbar was not being displayed. I re-added it via the View menu. When I did that a blank toolbar appeared, with none of my icons displayed. The icons are available in Favorites, but don't show up on the toolbar. Also, I cannot add any icons to the toolbar by dragging them from the Location bar.

There are two "Bookmarks" icons in bookmarks customize you do not want the one with the star, the one you want has a blue off center box, don't know what it is supposed to look like (maybe a book with 3 unused bookmarks laid down beside it). You will have to drag that icon to the your empty Bookmarks toolbar.

The bookmarks you should see in it are those in the "Bookmarks Toolbar" that you see in the Bookmarks Sidebar (Ctrl+B).

When you say Favorites are you talking about Internet Explorer Favorites, if you have imported them into Firefox you would have to move them to your Bookmarks Toolbar folder after you see "Bookmark toolbar items" in the bookmarks toolbar during customize.

Right on the mark. Thank you! Still don't know what I did to lose them, but I just dragged that blue dog-eared page icon up to the bar and got them all back.
