Have been using calendar for years, now no longer shows with email, why?

Calendar has been a visible part of email screen. Today only email appears. No Task or event and no list of next 5 days events. I am not aware of doing anything to hide or remove the calendar. Showed this morning but not when I opened system this afternoon. I looked at calendar items but creating anew calendar requested action from left column on screen, only bookmark items listed.

Lightning is the Thunderbird calendar. It is an add on. Go to the add on tab and click extensions. Is Lightning there but disabled? Enable it. Is Lightning not listed? Type lightning in the search box and install it.

I attempted to follow you directions. Not sure I got where you directed me. Not sure I got to the screen for extensions. I got to Add on Manager, then clicked extensions. Lightning Calendar Tabs came up with Lightning Calendar tabs settings.all four areas are check as enabled. I clicked OK and Lightning Calendar Tabs 2.0 appeared. Automatic Updates was defaulted, I shifted to On. Lasted updated Nov. 23, 2017.

Lightning not lightning calendar tabs. Lightning is the calendar and task manager.
