Will the new extension API support DownThemAll-like functionality?

more options

On the wiki page about web extensions, it says that Firefox will add support for older, more popular addons, such as Tree Style Tabs or TabMixPlus [1].

But I can't seem to find anything related to the functionality of DownThemAll. Will we have an "additional API" that supports what DownThemAll can do, i.e. get the links from the current page and download the files from those links to a specified folder?

Yes, there will be a "downloads" API.
