Thunderbird totally freezes a few seconds after it starts, using Xp, It was OK on Friday. Only able to get out using End Task. Thunderbird is the latest version, 31.7.0, it updated itself automatically a day before the problem occurred. How ca I roll it back to the last version.

Between 31.6.0 and 31.7.0 there would not be performance issues coming from THunderbird.

Start *Windows'* safe mode with networking enabled - XP http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/boot_failsafe.mspx

Still In Windows safe mode, start thunderbird in safe mode - http://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/kb/safe-mode
