Save Image As and Browse not working
This actually started prior to updating to FF29.0.1 but has gotten worse since. When I right click on any image on any page I get the menu and the option to 'Save Image As' but when I click on it I get a brief hour glass and then nothing happens. It used to be that if I restarted Firefox it would work for a little while but now it won't work at all. Same with browsing for a file. For example I am currently searching for work so I need to attach my resume a lot. When I click browse on the web page in order to point to my resume nothing happens and this is across all web pages. IE however works. Which is annoying as I HATE IE.
Things you should know. I am still on WindowsXP (could that be the issue?). I have tried running in Safe Mode as well as Resetting Firefox and the issues both still persists.
I have a work around for the Save Image Issue via an Add-On that I found but the Browse Issue is still ongoing and VERY annoying. HELP!!!
Chosen solution
Figured it out. Malware. I had a different issue and I ran Malware bytes and now all my Firefox issues are resolved. Should have thought of that in the first place.

Hi, this is most likely caused by one of your addons.
Type about:support into your url bar and press enter. Then click the "Copy all to clipboard" button and paste the output here.
This will let me see what addons you have installed.
The easiest fix might be to create a new Firefox profile for you. You can try that using the "Reset Firefox" feature also located in the about:support page.
To reset Firefox read:
Your saved passwords, bookmarks, browsing history, cookies, etc will be copied over to a new Firefox profile including your currently open tabs. But addons will not be carried over.

Here is the info you asked for. I have tried this with all the add ons disabled as well. I'll try the new profile thing tomorrow when I have more time.

So you only installed the Save File To addon after these problems appeared?
Because it hasn't been updated since August 10, 2013 and some new code changes in Firefox 29 might have broke this addon causing the broken things you're seeing. But if this stuff started before you installed that addon then nevermind.
Modified
Correct. I only added that after FF completely stopped allowing Save As. It works pretty good actually.
Alright that's good then. I agree that addon looks pretty good.
So if that's not responsible something else in your Firefox profile may have become corrupted or broke. Our best bet looks like trying the Firefox Reset. The only things you will lose after doing this is addons (which you can just reinstall again) and customizations made to the browser theme. Like the way you arranged toolbar buttons.
Hopefully this fixes the issue. If not, a reinstall of Firefox may be needed.

Wow! Awesome work. I can't believe malware was trying to break Firefox like that. Any idea what the name of the malware was? So we can try to warn others about it. Really glad you were able to solve this weird problem.
The name of it should be in the MalwareBytes cleanup log. Thanks!
Well it cleaned up a bunch of things so it's hard to tell which one but the one that I see that seems to be associated with Mozilla is PUP.Optional.CrossRider.A
