The Amazon.co.uk search plugin was working but now its not and when i try to click "add search engine" a box pops up with

Firefox could not download the search plugin from: https://d2lo25i6d3q8zm.cloudfront.net/browser-plugins/AmazonSearchSuggestionsOSD.Firefox.xml

another post suggested checking the about:config browser.search.region mine says "GB" which would be correct for .co.uk

All other search plugins work fine. Any suggestions?

See this thread for some info:

Interesting, but why?

Why has Firefox or Amazon (whoever is responsible, I can't see it being Amazon who stopped their own search as that would be crazy), why have Mozilla removed it?

I don't know about this change, maybe the partnership has ended and wasn't prolonged like also happened with Yahoo some years ago. It looks like only US and JP are supported for Amazon.

The search plugin fails to install on older versions as well with an "Access Denied" error, indicating this particular issue is not due to a Firefox change.

Which is very odd behavior from Amazon, almost like they don't want people to search/purchase from their site. Weird.

Search engines like Amazon are built-in (resource://search-extensions/) and their manifest.json is present in all Firefox versions, so it shouldn't be a problem to install and enable them. Only a remote check that disables a search engine can do this.

If you compare Amazob with DDG that has allRegionsAndLocales:true

variants: 0: environment: allRegionsAndLocales:true;

You should be able to find a search engine on the Mycroft Project. Remove the blank space in the following url.
