Could you check your desktop for the Old Firefox Data folder, and look inside for your old Firefox profile folder, with a semi-random name. That should contain your pre-Refresh settings. Inside, check for the sessionstore-backups and look at the file dates on those folders. Do they go back to March? What do you find there?

Were you using the Session Manager extension or using any other add-ons that might save sessions in a nonstandard location?

Thanks for help. 1st after opening for 1st time after refresh did get all current tabs. Closed & when opened again window came up and I assume clicked wrong of 2 options for Firefox. Before this went to help and did look at about:support and show folder & see 2 Java folders from refresh date 2 days ago and one BAK file, & 2 upgrade.js from March. None of the 3 from Aug open, etc. so not sure what am supposed to do with those. Didn't see anything on desktop. Wasn't using Session Manager extension or using any other.

That is correct. Session history files are only:

  • current session (recovery.js, recovery.bak)
  • previous session (previous.js)
  • snapshots from previous updates

There's no way to go back further or in between.

If you want to load previous.js and you did not do that already at startup, you would use the History menu > Restore Previous Session.

If that is grayed out, then you already are in the previous session and you can check the History menu for previously closed windows and previously closed tabs within each window.

If you did a Firefox Refresh and it ran normally all the way to completion, there should be an Old Firefox Data folder on the desktop. If it did not complete normally or if you had to interrupt it because it was stalled, there is another place to look for old settings. It's a little complicated to explain, but if you look at your earlier screenshot, you want to look in the Profiles folder to see what other folders are in there besides the one you already checked. If you find session history files that look promising, I suggest copying them to another folder for safekeeping.

Before suggesting further next steps, let me know what other profile folders you found, and why you did the Refresh -- how severe were the problems you had before?
