How do I add a url to the history pulldown in the search window?
The list of urls in the search window seems to occur randomly. I can remove one by highlighting and pressing the del key, but can't seem to find how to add one. I'm using XP pro, 64 bit.

Do you mean the one displayed when you click the downward-pointing triangle?
That list is computed based on "frecency", or a combination of how often and how recently you visited a URL. Since it is dynamically generated based on your history, there's no way to add to it other than by visiting a particular address a lot...
I actually never use that triangle myself. I just type a few letters into the address bar and watch the closest matching suggestions. What do you think of that approach -- is there too much junk that way?

Two other things:
- How about using bookmarks for sites you want quick access to?
- Are you really running Windows Server 2003? If you have a more modern version of Windows, you may want to remove a "Compatibility" settings from the Firefox shortcut you use to start the program.
To do that, either:- right-click a desktop shortcut
- right-click a pinned taskbar icon, then right-click Mozilla Firefox
In the Properties dialog, click the Compatibility tab and make sure nothing is set/selected on this tab.
You can make the Visit Count column visible in the History Manager and sort for this column and possibly type a colon (:) in the search bar to get a sorted list of history visits. To actually see the frecency count you would have to use the SQLite Manager extension (places.sqlite -> moz_places table).
Typing 2 or 3 letters of the site name brings it up from my bookmarks, and then it stays there. Strange way to do it, but it solves my problem. Thanks for the help. BTW I'm running Win XP Pro, 64 bit, not Server '03.

Thanks. I guess this site doesn't recognize Windows NT 5.2 correctly!
