My thunderbird will not get messages...It used to work well but just stopped 2 days ago

Sounds like a reinstall from getthunderbird.com might be the best approach. Note a reinstall does not affect your mail or settings.
I have went through the entire file system and deleted anything that had to do with thunderbird and then reinstalled it...That did not work...I still have the same problem...I have sense tried two other mail programs with the same results, can not connect to my aol mail account nor can I connect to my gmail account...Help
