There was an automatic change of some kind that no matter what I do this 22Find sight comes up when I get on internet. I have tried all your suggestions to resetting the old home page or choosing a different home page. None of them have worked. I really find 22Find irritating. I am not interested in all the advertisements. I just want to get on line. . . .that's all.

Try restore your home page:

Try go to about:config search for browser.startup.homepage change its value to:

about:home - default
about:blank - blank page
url - type a link that you want

You can check the target line in the Firefox desktop shortcut (right-click: Properties) to make sure that nothing is appended after the path to the Firefox program.

You can open the about:config page via the location bar and search for prefs that refer to 22find or find22 and reset related user set (bold) prefs via the right-click context menu to the default value.

Thanks Diego Victor(off) and cor-el. (Tried to use Italics button there and got Quote symbols). I had similar problem with "search.conduit.com" and your fixes worked for me (so far; until next time I re-boot (is that phrase still in use?)). Now, how do I find the b#%*^rds who feel entitled to hijack MY preferences and send a virtual SCUD to destroy their motherboards and hard drives and backups (including off-site)?

Ignore my aside about Italics and Quote symbol. All is fine after reply posts.

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
All these programs have free versions.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.
