Can't set up WeTransfer for attachments
I'm trying to set up my weTransfer account with Thunderbird but whenever I click on "Add WeTransfer" I only get a random photo from their website, see in the attached screenshot
Am I doing something wrong?
Many thanks for your time and help!

As far as I can see Thunderbird appears to only support the free service which simply takes a from To and message and the file. No authentication.
Thanks for responding Matt. I tried and it works! Only caveat is that it doesn't work with my VPN on (Mozilla VPN). Do you happen to know a workaround? I get this error:
"Unable to upload FILENAME.zip to WeTransfer."
I have no idea how the VPN works, but a common issue for email is the VPN not actually supporting the Ports used for email. While that does not appear to be your issue, I really do not know what port the outgoing connection uses. I would have expected the upload to use standard HTMLS ports but that is just a guess.
There is a Mozilla VPN support forum, I suggest you ask there. Refer back to this topic if you feel it is relevant https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/new/firefox-private-network-vpn

I suspect it is a new issue with WeTransfer, because I do not have a proxy nor a VPN and I get exactly the same error message. WeTransfer worked prior to January 15 (then I did not use it for 2 weeks) and it didn't work at the end of January.
I have also noticed that WeTransfer also changed their policies for people who send files via their website. They have made it much more difficult to use for people who do not have an account. I therefore wonder if that would be the issue and if we need to have Thunderbird ask for the user's email and password.

I do not provide support for Mozilla VPN. If it causes issues the best I can suggest is turn it off.
I posted a link to the Mozilla VPN Support on the fourth of the month... perhaps ask there for support with the VPN there.
I am sharing a screenshot of the problem I am facing while using Thunderbird to link large attachments using the file link storage wetransfer.
Any ideas? I'm having the same problem as Vallikannu, with the same error message.
As michgagnon suggested, is this to do with WeTransfer now being stricter about requiring authentication, so that TB's implementation will only work if the user has a WeTransfer account and gives TB the credentials? If so, how must TB be modified? Should this be raised as a bug report / feature request?
I too am having a problem with WeTransfer and my experience is identical to michgagnon in that the service was working until recently and has not worked for a while now. Sorry I can't be more specific about when the service stopped working.
I'm using TB 78.9.0 on 64-bit Win7.
Hello, I also have this problem, is there a solution for?
thx
The cause here was determined to be a VPN, if you don't have a VPN you don't have the same problem and you should consider creating a new thread with specific details about your issue.
If you do have a VPN, discuss the issue with the VPN provider. It is not a Thunderbird issue if it works without the VPN running which is the case in this thread.
Hi All,
Whoever faced similar issues like mine, just wanted to let them know that mine started working just today. I was able to link the file attachment using we-transfer. As I did not come across any solutions I had not done anything at all. And just tried today and it was working.
Unfortunately I just tried and it hasn't started working for me -- still the same issue. I suspect it's to do with changes at WeTransfer which require a sign-in or at least an acknowledgement click before you can upload.
