When I click a link the page I am on closes so when I go back to its tab it has to download again. Why don't the web pages stay open so I can go back and forth

When I have 2 or more tabs open and try to go back and forth the tabs web pages close down and have to download the site info. Why don't the sites info stay up in the tab so I can go back and forth without having to wait each time I go back to a tab site. This makes researching very painful.

I get around this by; When I find a link I want to check out, I open it in a new tab/window. Then when I am done, I close it and am back where I started.

I need to be able to go back and forth from one tab site to another tab site without it having to re-download the first tab site info.

You can do that with my instructions.

Lets tray this again. I have a tab open looking at its content. I click a link on that page and a new tab opens. I go to the new tab and look around. I then click the first tab and nothing shows up except the little rotating circle that indicates it is downloading the site info. I want to be able to have the site info up all the time in the tab so I can click one tab or another tab and the continents of that site shows up instantly and not have to take time downloading the page info again. I do not turn off the site I am just trying to go from one tab site to another without it having to keep downloading each time I click on the tab.

When you're on a Tab and see a link you want to open, instead of just clicking on the link, do a Right-Click on the link and choose to open the link in a New Tab or New Browser Window. Does the original Tab stay with all its content and not 'Reload' or 'Refresh'?
