Get the message "this add-on is corrupt" for e very add-on I try and add from file saved - have been on the forums. Everything is updatd to latest version.
Hi! I have been on the following page but still get the error message: this add-on is corrupt for each add-on I save. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/installing-addon-thunderbird I have the latest version so I don't know what to do next. I have no problems installing an add-on on the Firefox webpage but can no longer do this on Thunderbird. It's been like this for about three weeks. Thanks in advance, Isabelle

Update: I checked the version I had (59 something) and installed the version 60.0. I thought I had the latest but apparently didn't. Add-ons now can be installed like before.
So they probably were corrupt. As far as the version of Thunderbird was concerned anyway. There are significant and fundamental changes in add-on under the hood in version 60 (the user facing part is the add-on options menu in V60, options are no longer accessed from the add-on manager) so trying to install add-on for 60 in previous version may be very problematical.
It is a good idea to browse and install add-ons only in the Thunderbird add-on manager as that process limits you to add-ons that have a compatible version with your version of Thunderbird. I know the add-on manager has been acting a little hinky on some links since the move to the new site, opening links in the browser when clicked. But I am sure they are teething problems from the creation of a new site for Thunderbird add ons . (Part of the arrangement with Mozilla)

The exact message is: This add-on could not be installed because it appears to be corrupt.
