They should, but they don't.

I have the same problem on all websites.

That got me thinking it may have been a conflict between my Firefox setting [en-gb] and my Mac keyboard, which was set to Maori.

Setting the Mac's keyboard to British English made no difference.

Everything's set to unicode.

Did this work properly in previous Firefox versions?

Try to uninstall and reinstall Firefox (drag Firefox to the trash).

You can create a new profile to test if your current profile is causing the problem.

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.

I deleted the copy of Firefox from the work computer and installed a new one from the download website. No dice.

So I created a new profile. Still no dice.

Pretty sure I had the same issue with previous version.

Hi, I'm a Mac user and have said so from the beginning.

My keyboard works, but keyboard shortcuts do not.

I've narrowed it down to shortcuts that use the Command key not working.

For instance, to get an en dash the shortcut is alt+hypen and that works.

However, copy (cmd+c), paste (cmd+v) etc do not work.

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful or accepting the risk.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste ui.key and pause while the list is filtered

(3) If the ui.key.accelKey preference is bolded and "modified" or "user set" to some value other than 224, right-click (or Ctrl+click) and choose Reset to restore that default value (or you can double-click and edit)

• 224 = Cmd
• 18 = Opt
• 17 = Ctrl
• 0 = none

The shortcuts using the command key and the mouse work.

The shortcuts using the command key plus other keys do not work.

Have just upgraded to Firefox Quantum, and the problem persists.

Have now got a new laptop for work, and the problem has disappeared.
