when i search i only get one page of web results

more options

When I search a topic I only get one page of web results. Though there are a lot of page numbers at the bottom of the screen, no matter what page number I click only the results of page one keeps coming up. It might say there are millions of results but all I can get is page one no matter what page number I click. I used to get all the results. This started happening not too long ago. Whats going on and how can I fix it. Help!

Hmm, some questions:

  • Does this happen on all search sites or only particular ones?
  • Does the "Next" link work or is that one broken, too?
  • If you click and drag the page number all the way up to the address bar and drop it there, will Firefox load that page, or does it just reload the same page? (This is just for testing, I am not suggesting you'll need to do that going forward.)

Could you test in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.

If Firefox is not running: Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox.

If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

and OK the restart.

Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).

Any improvement?
