27-inch iMac running Yosemite, many websites open too small; on Chrome they opened full screen without need to rest each time it oepned.
Running Firefox, most webpages I access don't open properly on a 27-inch screen. They don't size properly, for example nytimes.com only opening 9" horizontally, with 6-plus inches of white space left and right. On Google Chrome, which I no longer want to use, pages open full size, full screen, sized appropriately for a large screen. I realize I can use "Command +" to increase page size, but would need to do that each time I reopen the browser or a new page. Can this issue be resolved so that the pages default to appropriate size. Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi dearmarc, I understand that you would like Firefox browser pages to open up by default fullscreen and scalled correctly to the screensize.
In the past I have seen a work around suggested:
- This add on: R-Kiosk
- If you like to run apps from the terminal or command line try: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/26.../open-firefox-in-fullscreen-from-command-line
You may have a corrupt xulstore.json file. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/changes-toolbars-and-window-sizes-are-not-saved
