I used to be able to open an email attachment before I choose to save it. Now I can only save it. Then I have to locate where it is save and open it. PDF's will not always open in Adobe. I have the most recent Adobe. This is a new problem for me in using gmail and firefox.

Hello,

Please open settings and under applications (in option) see whether the file types (png, pdf, jpeg) have correct action. If they are always ask they will ask where to save file or do you want to open with some app. If they are save then they will be saved without asking.

For more info you can read the following: http:// http://kb.mozillazine.org/File_types_and_download_actions

Hope it helps.

Thanks so much. It just took me a while to find which set of "settings" to find.

I appreciate the help.
