Unable to complete installation of Firefox 34.0.5. Mozilla Firefox setup hangs at creating shortcut ( Mozilla Firefox .lnk) on status bar on install window. OS: Windows 8.1 System had older version of Firefox but it is no longer in Programs list. There is no helper.exe file to manually uninstall any previous version or remnant of a previous version but I do have C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox folder . Thank you.

Try this:
- Download the full Firefox installer and save the file to the desktop
https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/ - Start the installation with a double-click on the desktop icon
