For some reason, Firefox has saved the password for a site that I REALLY don't want to be saved (I sure didn't tell it to). So, I decided to delete it! simple enough right? wrong . When I go into security options and click Saved Passwords, I see nothing. When I type in the site name, I see nothing. What, there ARE no saved passwords in Firefox? I don't think so. How do I fix this?

Did you remove the password in the Password Manager or by pressing the Delete key on a highlighted item in the dropr down list of the name field on the web page?

It is possible that you clicked the wrong button (Remove All) by accident and have removed all the passwords.

Thanks, Fred, that did it. cor-el, I am quite sure I would never have added this to my list of saved passwords, therefore no reason why it should ever have been in password manager. Also sure I haven't removed them all, as this one was obviously remembered.

It could be the work of one of your add-ons, or even add / mal-ware. Look thru your add-ons list and make sure you know what each one is there for. Also, check the programs that are on your computer

Windows: Start > Control Panel > Uninstall Programs. Mac: Open the "Applications" folder Linux:

  • Ubuntu Unity {web link}
  • Xfce: Applications Menu category sections
  • options depends on the package manager and the desktop environment

Go thru the list. If you find something that you don't know what it is, use a web search.
