My website's SSL certificate is validated but Firefox shows an error. I tried Internet Explorer and Chrome and they work fine without any error.

Are you sure about that URL? I get a very odd page.

If you set up your own certificates, you usually need to install two of them: your site's own certificate, and an intermediate certificate. This article has the steps for that: PositiveSSL Certificate Installation: Apache & mod_ssl / OpenSSL - Kayako SupportSuite Help Desk Software.

Does that help?

Please excuse the index page. My website is still in-progress so I setup a random index page. I was just wondering why Firefox has trouble with PositiveSSL. I bought it from NameCheap.com and set it up correctly with the help from the hosting support team. It works fine on Internet Explorer and Chrome but not on Firefox. Image

I have a Positive SSL cert; they certainly can work in Firefox. A key difference between Firefox and IE is that Firefox requires your server to profile a full chain of certificates up to the trusted root; apparently IE will do some kind of research to find the intermediate certificate(s). I don't know what Chrome does.

Are you able to view the page with the latest version of Firefox? I can view it fine even on my iPhone's Safari browser. Do I have to contact my web host about this? This can't be fixed at all without me asking for help from my web hosting provider?

I get an error on your site, see attached.

Regarding whether you can install the full certificate bundle, I think it depends on how your hosting is set up -- the directory in which certificates are stored is in a more secure part of the server than your regular content -- and whether your provider sent you everything.

jscher2000, could you clarify on the link you posted (beginner's language please :))? I'm not experienced at SSL and I'm on a shared hosting if that helps.

Hi Hokemonz, I posted a link to a generic instruction file, but actually my host is set up a bit different and probably yours is, too. I suggest checking with your hosting provider. Make sure you have the "bundle" file from NameCheap or Comodo.
