I am running Firefox 3.6.17 on a Mac desktop. Recently all Google searches return a results window that is at least 1/2 hidden, at the left side of my screen. This hidden results window can not be dragged or clicked to expand to full view.(ONLY Google searches do this - all other search engines work fine. i.e. yahoo, bing, dogpile, etc.) This happens when I do a Google search from Google's own toolbar search box, or from a Groowe search toolbar. Very annoying, making Google an un-usable choice for searching!

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

  • Use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window to disable all extensions.
  • Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

Hello cor-el:

You nailed it! The conflict was with an add-on "Deeper Web for Google." Thanks!
