I just updated to the latest Firefox & now when everytime I start Firefox my tabs are gone & there are empty tabs.
The solutions you offer do not help. Please advise how to fix it. Can I roll back to previous version Firefox when everything was working fine. I am using Windows 10 Home. Need your help ASAP.

I still have this problem. No one can help? This is maddening...PLEASE help!
You may have corrupt sessionstore file(s). Delete all sessionstore* files and the sessionstore-backups folder.
Type about:support<enter> in the address bar.
Under the page logo on the left side, you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To its right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.
Locate the above file. Then rename or delete it. Restart Firefox.
Use one of these to close Firefox if you are currently doing that by clicking the close X on the Firefox title bar.
- "3-bar" menu button -> Exit (Power button)
- Windows: File -> Exit
- Mac: Firefox -> Quit Firefox
- Linux: File -> Quit
Are you using "Clear history when Firefox closes" to clear any data?
To see all History and Cookie settings, choose:
- Options/Preferences -> Privacy -> Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"

Thanks for your suggestions but the problem continues & is the same. See attached image. Please help!
HELP PLEASE!!!! It is still not working.
Have you tried updating to v56 ? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/update-firefox-latest-version?cache=no
Or
v55 has been giving users problems. Reinstall v54.
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/install-older-version-of-firefox?cache=no Be sure to read everything here.
If you still want to downgrade, look under; I still want to downgrade. Click the Directory of other versions and languages link. Look for the directory of the version that you want. But, remember that old versions may have security issues.
You should also check out Firefox; Extended Support Release {web link} ESR Notes System Requirements
Thanks again for the info, however I need you to point me to the steps I have to take (in order to roll back to version 54). The new version of Firefox 56 is even working worse that Version 55.
The directory that you pointed me to is loaded with several versions & I am not sure which to pick. I need version 54 for 32 bit. I get to the page: "Index of /pub/firefox/releases/" and then I clicked on: "Index of /pub/firefox/releases/54.0b9/" Is this correct so far? Then what? The following 2 are available: Dir win32-EME-free/ Dir win32/ Which one please?
One more thing: I attempted to use "Session Manger" Extension & "Save Session" Extension and they do not save my sessions correctly.
BTW what is "LEGACY" mentioned on these 2 extensions?
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!
Legacy just means that in a future version, those add-ons will not work in Firefox. They will need to be rewritten or replaced.
Did you want to use the beta version?
firefox:beta https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/channel/#beta
Thanks for your response & for explaining Legacy.
Since I still have the problem with the 2 updates I am concerned with trying a beta version. Do you have any other suggestions? Never had this problem before & it's terrible.

You had said
then I clicked on: "Index of /pub/firefox/releases/54.0b9/"
The menus are a bit complicated.
/pub/firefox/releases/53.0/win32/en-US/ https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/53.0/win32/en-US/
/pub/firefox/releases/54.0.1/win32/en-US/ https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/54.0.1/win32/en-US/
New problems!!!!
I try to open OPTIONS & it is not responsive. How can I get it to open? I need that option desperately!!!!!!!!
I have Firefox 32bit installed. Would it help to uninstall my 32bit & install fresh new Firefox 64bit since my operating system is 64bit? H E L P!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How can I get to my options to open?????
You can create a new profile to test if your current profile is causing the problem.
See "Creating a profile":
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.
Nothing has changed. Still the same problems. I even updated with Firefox 64 bit. Same thing!
If you use external cleanup software (CCleaner) then check the settings for Firefox. Make sure that session isn't included in the cleanup settings.
