The Stop and reload icons are still in Firefox, just at the end of the address bar instead of separated.

You can do more customization options by following the steps at How to make the new Firefox look like the old Firefox

Please update to Firefox 35 ASAP, 26 which you are currently running is very insecure and unstable.

@ Tyler.

Thanks for the quick response.

I have the latest "stable" version of Firefox installed alongside Comodo Ice Dragon (based on Firefox 26.0.0.2). I have no stability issues. As for "security" I am protected by the latest of M.S.E. / Malwarebytes / S.A.S. with real time protection.

I have been using Firefox for many years. I will see if your link is helpful in the latest version of Firefox. If not, (regrettably) I will look for an alternative browser.

Okay... I installed the UI your link led me to. I remain unable to customize as I please. The Fwd / Back buttons are inextricably tied to the Navigation bar.

Attached is an image of what I have in Comodo Ice Dragon.

You can look at the Classic Theme Restorer extension to customize the appearance in Firefox 29 and later and make it look like older Firefox versions.

  • You can check out the settings of the CTR extension via its Options/Preferences button on the "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" page.
  • You can find extra toolbar buttons and more toolbar settings in Customize (3-bar Firefox menu button > Customize)

Many of us are using; Classic Theme Restorer (Customize Australis) {web link} Restore squared tabs, appmenu, add-ons bar, small button view and more on Australis UI (Windows/MacOSX/Linux + Fx 29+).

This will restore many of the things the last upgrades took away.

Okay... we're half way there. See attached image and compare with above attached image. Then you will understand what I mean.

The Fwd / Back / Stop / Reload / Activity icons are different from the enabled Aeon theme. I have been unable to correct this.

My last post / question was in jest.

So... is anyone working to (once again) make Firefox the "fully" customizable browser it used to be ?

The developer of Classic Theme Restorer spent many hundreds of hours creating that extension for Firefox users who want the "classic" appearance and functionality in the Fx29+ versions. What more do you want to change that Aris didn't cover in that extension?

As far as Mozilla recreating the older UI with the new UI code or reverting to the old UI - "snowballs chance in hell" of them undoing the changes after spending close to 3 years developing the new UI to serve both mobile devices and desktop devices with the same code base.

Apparently, someone is under the impression I am unappreciative.

That is not the case.

All I have essentially asked is "why does the Aeon theme only half work".

And "is someone going to work on a fix for this".

Please see before and after attachments for clarification.

Thank you.

If there is something you want Firefox to do, but it is not built in, go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for what you want.

If you can't find what you want, you can ask in the add-ons forum. It could be something is there, or you can suggest someone make one.

ed, just an fyi that Australis wasn't done so Mobile and Desktop could use the same code base, Mobile uses Java, Desktop uses XUL. It's not possible for them to be the same. There was an edge goal of making sure the different products had a familiar look (hence the curved tabs that you see on Desktop and Mobile) but that was all.

Kojak, Please contact the developers of the Aeon theme, they likely need to update it.

@ Tyler.

Thanks, I will do that.

Hi to everyone and Kojack 1958 I AM ALSO displeased that THE RELOD option is not available. Especially now with all the FROZEN PAGES ALL THE TIME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The menu bar on FILE or EDIT .....used to have the option ....as well as right click or left click the RELOAD would appear......

Why is this option gone.......there should at least be an ADD ON....... SINCERELY, not happy....
