Since the recent update I'm getting an error when trying to download emails from rogers.com

The following error shows up: "Sending of password for user monty did not succeed. Mail server pop.broadband.rogers.com responded:"

There is nothing after the colon to indicate any response that was sent. I have three separate POP email accounts with Rogers, all have the same issue. I can send emails out using the SMTP settings, but I can't access incoming emails. This started yesterday sometime after 3:25PM, when I received an email. All of the POP settings for the Rogers email accounts haven't been changed and I can access the accounts using my iPhone and webmail, it's just Thunderbird that is having the issue.

Settings:

Pop server: pop.broadband.rogers.com Port: 995 Connection Security: SSL/TLS

I haven't changed any of the settings on these accounts in several years.

Your phone is using IMAP and webmail uses other servers. The problem seems isolated to the POP server.

If you are using multiple devices to access your e-mail (phone & computer), then you would be better off using IMAP on your computer also. Switch from POP to IMAP account

To figure out if the problem is with Thunderbird, or with the POP server, Create a new profile in Thunderbird for testing.
