Why do we have copy/paste and find but no find/replace?

For composing emails online as well as for browser-based text editors, we really should have find/replace if we have find. It's a logical progression and immensely useful tool that I don't understand the absence of in Firefox. I've tried the ONE add-on that does find/replace, but it doesn't actually work.

Help? IS there an add-on I'm just not seeing? I mean, I searched 'find and replace' and 'search and replace' but most of them are supposedly just to have fun replacing words on the screen, but they apparently don't actually work with text editors. I'm going by the comments/feedback on their sites.

I honestly don't understand why find/replace isn't standard in the firefox browser already, but is there anything out there I can use to do the same function? Or who do I flail at to get it added?

Web browsers are just that. They aren't meant to do editing. There are some add-ons that can do simple changes. Such as;

Case Changer {web link} Change the case of any selected text in just one click from the context menu. Change case to lower case, Sentence case, Capitalise Each Word, UPPER CASE and tOGGLE cASE.

And there are also spell/grammar checkers.
