T-Bird email: There is no SEND Button showing in "write" page. (Screenshot available; maybe)
Only "paragraph" and "variable width" are showing where SEND button should be.

What you explain does not sound correct. re :Only "paragraph" and "variable width" are showing where SEND button should be. These ("paragraph" and "variable width" ) are shown in the 'Formatting Bar' which appears below 'Subject' header and above the actual area where you type the email. The Formatting Bar is enabled when you use HTML. The 'Send' button has never been on the 'Formatting Bar'.
The 'Send' button should be on the 'Composition Toolbar'. Q: Do you see the 'Composition Toolbar' ? It should have 'Send', 'Spelling', 'Security' etc
If yes, but it has no 'Send' nor 'Send Later' button.
- Right click on 'Composition Toolbar' and select 'Customise'
- Click on 'Restore default set' button
- click on 'Done'
If no: At the top do you see the 'Menu Bar'? It has 'File' , 'Edit' , 'View' etc. If yes:
- 'View' > 'Toolbars' > select 'Composition Toolbar'
If no:
- Press 'Alt' on keyboard to get a temporary view of it.
- 'View' > 'Toolbars' > select 'Menu Bar' to set permanent.
Then select:
- 'View' > 'Toolbars' > select 'Composition Toolbar'

If you can only see the 'Send Later' button where the 'Send' button should be, this means Thunderbird is in 'Offline' mode. This can occur if you have lost internet connectivity, even temporarilly or if you have started Thunderbird in Offline mode.
In main UI (not Write window): The bottom Status Bar will show an icon in the far left corner. If it is a 'two black screen icon' then Thunderbird is in 'Offline' mode. Click on that ' two black screen icon' and it should change to a 'two blue screen icon' meaning you have returned to 'online' status. Click on 'Write' and the 'Send Later' button should now display a 'Send' button.
Perfect! Found it and now fixed. Thank you so much!
I have done the above and still have only FROM TO SUBJECT and the upper tool bar with SEND grayed out, SPELLING, SECURITY and SAVE Plus ATTACH In it's normal spot
Dave W This question is all about getting the 'Send' button to appear or getting the various toolbars to appear.
You say that you have the 'Composition Toolbar' visible and can see 'Send'. So, it would seem you have followed instructions perfectly ok.
Is the problem that the 'Send' is visible on the toolbar, but greyed out ?
When you open a new Write message, there is no information regarding who you are sending to, so at this point the email cannot be sent anyway, so 'Send' button is greyed out. This prevents accidental sending to no one. This is normal. It will be greyed out until you have entered an email address in a TO field, at which point the 'Send' button will become active and ready for use.
I checked out what you said and you are right on. I can now send. for what it is worth the page that is provided does not match what it previously looked like but I am very happy that I can now answer messages without doing it on my PC instead of the Mac I am working on now. It got to be a pain with two Mice on a cramped space and me having to figure out which one to grab at the right time Thank you very much Dave
