How do I prompt first party cookies in v. 48?
I know FF took this option away several versions ago, and I'm still not happy about it.
Is there a simple to us add-on that will allow me to prompt first party cookies?
I currently use Cookie Monster, but it doesn't offer the prompt option.
Thank you!

- Will "ask me every time" be coming back, and how can I get Ver 43?
I understand that feature was removed because it was unmaintained and probably not working properly. One of the Developers working on the changes wroteThe functionality was unmaintained, bogus and not really nice to use on today's Web. Yes, it would be better if implemented in an add-on, so someone could take care of it properly and interested users in the community could drive its future better. Honestly today we have better replacements to protect privacy, you can control third-party cookies and tracking protection can be enabled through privacy.trackingprotection.enabled (in newer versions directly from Options / Privacy), plus there's a bunch of nicely made add-ons that can block any kind of contents on AMO. Sticking to a dialog that pops up every other second and can easily break website functionality, is just not being realistic, Mozilla is still fighting for users privacy (tracking protection is a clear sign of that), but the tools used to do that should be on par with the current Web and should have the due quality, imo. {bug606655#c50 )You may also be interested in this

Thank you, John for taking the time to answer my questions. I will definitely check all of the links.
I'm still looking into things, but wanted to add that v.48 keeps changing my settings from blocking all 3rd party cookies to allowing them. Haven't had time to see what else it arbitrarily changed. That is REALLY ANNOYING.
I checked into each one of the links. From what I can tell, none of them offer a way to prompt first party cookies from site to site. What I have to do now is go in and check my cookies and add them as blocked to my exception list. That is a pain in the butt. I don't want to clear all of my cookies each time I close firefox because there are a couple of sites I where I want to stay signed in.
I use cookiemonster which offers an easier way to see what cookies are allowed, but from what I can tell, there's still no way to stop cookies from being dumped onto my computer. All I can do is delete them after the fact.
I think I figured out how to do this. I went to preferences, then privacy. I unchecked 'accept cookies from sites.' I set cookiemonster default to reject cookies. Then I tested on a site I've never been to and cookiemonster rejected the cookies & I checked FF cookie list and there were none for that site. So, now all I have to do is tell cookiemonster if and when I want to allow cookies fo a specific site. :-)
I'm looking further into the ublock add-on instead of using blur.
Thank you for your help!!!
