Syncing to 2nd computer

I am logged in to Firefox on my iMac. I added the 'master password' and wrote that down as my Firefox password, and deleted the previous password. It is only 4 characters.

I now want to sync to my Macbook Air, but it does NOT accept that password, complaining that it is only 4 characters.

How can I sync to my Macbook Air?

Thanks!

Hi netra, there are two or three different passwords, so let's start there:

(1) Firefox Account

You have a single Firefox Account password, the one you used to log in here. You'll use this same password on all of your Firefox installations to connect to your Firefox Account for Sync purposes.

(2) Primary/Master Password on your iMac

This is a locally set password for encrypting saved logins. This password is specific to your iMac installation and does not sync. It won't work anywhere else.

(3) Primary/Master Password on your MacBook Air

At installation, this Firefox did not have any Primary/Master password set. You can create one. Maybe the rules require a longer one now? I don't see that mentioned in the article, though: Use a Primary Password to protect stored logins and passwords.

If you do not remember the password of the Sync account because you removed it then you need to reset the password of the Firefox Sync account.

Hi martyr1, if you click the main menu button on the right end of the toolbar, is there a Sign in to Firefox item? (This screenshot is from Windows.)
