When I first open the internet, my home pages almost never load. Instead, I see circles going around and around saying "connecting." I use my two email addresses and Google as my home pages if that is significant. I can type in addresses and that works ok but the home pages are almost never loaded at first. I have an Asus laptop.

Hi notawhiz, Sorry you are having problems.

Do the pages eventually load ? What about if you load them manually

  1. From a bookmark (bookmark your homepage tabs if you have not already done so)
  2. By typing the page address into the location bar of a new tab.
Keyboard shortcut Ctrl + N is one method of opening a new window and tab

Your homepage addresses may be outdated, check what they are. Replace them with updated ones if necessary.

You may also need to clear site cookies and or cache to resolve the issues

Have a look at the above linked articles for suggestions.

Some added toolbar and anti-virus add-ons are known to cause Firefox issues. Disable All of them.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?
