Receiving error message when downloading emails
I have several email accounts provided via the same ISP. I am having problems downloading emails in one account in Thunderbird - messages do not down load and I receive an error message saying:
There was an error downloading the following message: From: <sender name and email address> Subject: <subject line header> This message may contain a virus or there is not enough disk space. Skip this message? Yes / No
If Yes is selected, the message then appears for the next email being downloaded to Thunderbird. Messages are being downloaded from the same ISP in the other accounts.
I have tried repairing the folder and compacting. I also tried in Thunderbird Safe Mode, but none of these have made any difference. The emails that are not downloading are readable in the webmail application
Any ideas please on how I can fix this problem (it appeared today and is the first time I've seen it)
Thanks

Don't let your anti-virus s/w scan your Thunderbird profile folder. And don't let it scan incoming and outgoing messages.
Hi. Thanks for your prompt reply. The error message is generated in Thunderbird and not by my anti-virus software. It is also specific to one email account and does not affect the others.
I have around 40Gb unused space on my hard drive.
The From and Subject fields in the error message contain the sender's email address and subject header respectively (these didn't show in my original email)
I have also moved a lot of messages from mu inbox.
I have not changed my anti-virus software (and have been using the same package for years
