Perform the suggestions mentioned in the following articles:
- Clear Cookies & Cache
- Clear the Network Cache
- Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems
Check and tell if its working.
I've had this problem since an update about a year back, I haven't been bothered about finding what the problem is yet, but here is a working solution:
1- Depending on your operating system navigate to the following folder:
Windows 95 - C:windows Windows 98 - C:\windows Windows Me - C:\windows Windows 2000 - C:windows\system32\drivers\etc Windows XP - C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc Windows NT - C:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc Windows Vista - C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc
2- Open the file named "hosts" using a simple text editing program such as Notepad or Notepad ++. You will notice that you cannot edit the file but you can click "save-as" and make an editable copy on your desktop.
3- Add the following lines to your hosts file:
127.0.0.1 www.tmpusedotcom
127.0.0.1 tmpusedotcom
REPLACE " dot " WITH " . " WHEN YOU DO THIS OR IT SIMPLY WILL NOT WORK (googledotcom = google.com)
What this does is redirects ALL requests made to tmpuse'.com to your local computer, which responds immediately and ends the request.

what about on a Mac? how do you clear it there?
Am I correct in assuming you are having the same tmpuse issue with Mac?
If so, this may be of some help for you, please note that I am not a Mac user and I cannot test this, perhaps one of the Mac Supporters from here can verify this for you.
http://support.apple.com/kb/TA27291 Explains how to edit your hosts file for Macs (Note that this support doc is no longer updated...)
not exactly the same issue - any time a load a page in firefox, it shows that it's loading tmpuse.com and it takes a VERY long time for any page to load as a result. i mostly use chrome as a result. but i like firefox best! sorry, but info in that link is way over my head. i lack the tech gene.
Can you please list all the plugins and addons you are using for Firefox, it is quite possible we can narrow down the cause by finding a common extension.
Hi Ducklz,
I have solved the problem after uninstalled the browser and re-installed it. Anyway, thanks for giving me advice. Thanks.
i tried uninstalling and re-installing Firefox. that seems to have worked, at least for now. have done this before. tmpuse comes back. but it's gone right now.
