New email profile is not showing up in profiles folder
My email profiles are on the D: drive
I created a new email profile & chose the profile folder on the D:\ drive.
The profiles.ini on the C:\ drive shows the correct Path=D:\Mozilla\xxxxxxxxxx.
But it’s missing the end part with the alpha-numeric characters & name. And the alpha-numeric filename is not on the D:\ drive.
IOW the profile manager created an entry in the profiles.ini file with a name & a path pointing to the D:\ drive, but never created the actual Profile on the D:\ drive.
I’ve done this before but can’t figure out what step I missing now.
What am I doing wrong?

When Profile Manager creates a new profile it shows a filepath with a filename on the C:/ drive. But when I choose a folder it drops off the filename part.
I started over & let TB create the new profile on the C:/ drive. Then copied it the profiles folder on the D:/ drive, & pointed to it in profiles.ini. Maybe that's what I did long time ago. Everything works.

If you have a full profile on drive D, the name is not important. All that is important is that profiles.ini have the proper name. If you're comfortable editing that text file, just make the correction (while Thunderbird is not running) and you should be okay. If that does not work, then there are problems in the profile. Since the profile already exists, you do NOT want profile manager to create a new one; you just need it to point to the one you have.
There is no new profile on the D:\ drive.
The profiles.ini has a pathname but it does not include a profile name. The pathname ends with the main profile folder.
All the other pathnames in profiles.ini include a profile name. The profile name is the only thing that differentiates them.
