How to open a YT Video in a new Tab and prevent autoplay once in Firefox (like in Chrome)
Then i middle mouse click on a Youtube video in chrome it starts playing as soon as i switch to this Tab. Unfortunately this function isn't implemented in Firefox. I found this Plugin but it doesnt work for HTML5 Videos and in my case it doesnt work with Flash ether.

This is not a cure, but should let the web page load without crashing.
Flash block {web link} Never be annoyed by a Flash animation again! Blocks Flash so it won't get in your way, but if you want to see it, just click on it
Security Issue: Update your Flash Player Note: Windows users should download the active_x for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).
Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the active_x.

Thank you for your Answer. Although I already have an ad-blocker that blocks annoying flash videos/animations. Nevertheless I want to use HTML5 to play my YouTube videos (I find that the Flash version looks awful and oldschool) so as i said my problem is that i only want to block the video to play when i didn't open the tap. When I click on the Tap the video should play automatically.
Try this.
- Go to the address bar and navigate to about:config
- Click the I'll be careful, I promise! button to proceed.
- Using the search box provided in the page above, search for media.autoplay.enabled and double click the pref to set it to false. The pref should be bold and display "false" as the value.
Restart Firefox and when you open a new YouTube tab for example, it won't play the video until you navigate to that tab.
No, sorry this prevents autoplay completly. I want to use the autoplay function for listening to music so this isnt an option. Any other thoughts?
