I am currently taking college classes and every time I do a search the first thing that pops up is wikipedia. I would like to remove the results of that from my searches. If you have any suggestions I would greatly appreciate the help.

Hi laz_the_hun, I agree, Wikipedia is a no-no in college.

Most popular search engines crawl the internet for the most popular results and many people don't realize how easy it is to edit a Wiki article and depreciate the information.

I looked around for you and came across this Firefox extension - Eccellio Science - Search Engine.

I haven't used it yet, but it sounds promising.

If it doesn't work for you I would suggest developing a bookmarks folder of links to reliable sites to gather information from. It may sound bothersome but I'm sure that it will pay off for you in the long run.

Good Luck!

Are you talking about that is your default search engine?

Type about:preferences#search<enter> in the address bar. You can select any search engine to be your default from here.

You can also remove any engine from here.

I assume that you use the location/address bar to do these searches and not the search bar.

You can do a search in the history sidebar or History Manager (Library) for wikipedia and remove this specific history.

You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History -> Show All History" or "View -> Sidebar -> History").

Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from this domain like history and cookies and passwords and exceptions and cache, so be cautious. If you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.

You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of involved files.

If you revisit a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.
