Does Firefox have Flash in it or not? Mozilla's website, on several pages, maybe many pages, seems to say it does, but I'm running FF 56.0 (64-bit) on Ubuntu 2016.04.2 desktop amd64 (on HDD) (not the machine I'm posting this from) and Ubuntu forum people have given me advice on finding Flash in several ways and the overall result seems to be that Flash is nowhere on my hard drive. I'm trying to get rid of it. Is Flash present but under another name?

Shockwave Flash 11.2 r202

Separate Security Issue: Update your Flash Player Note: Windows users should download the ActiveX for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).

Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the ActiveX.

First reply: No. I was posting from a different machine (as noted), so I did not opt in to send platform details. And I don't want Flash. If it's present, I want to get rid of it. It's a security risk.

Second reply: Thank you for the links, especially helpx.Adobe's. For the laptop in question, it reported the absence or nonenablement of Flash, but Firefox offers no option for enabling it, so it's apparently absent, and I'm glad.

It looks like Mozilla should say that Flash is absent nowadays, in order to correct a reasonable impression from a number of Mozilla pages that FF has Flash.

If you want to make sure flash is not on your system;

Flash: Grab the uninstaller from here:

That's helpful. As it turns out, there's no uninstaller for Linux, but Adobe's browser-specific steps would cover it if Flash were listed with the add-ons. Thank you.
