I have more than 40 employees in my company. I recently discovered that some of them are using Private mode while at work to browse not work related websites. Is there a way I can control the private mode, or disable it permanently on their computers? Please let me know Thank you

Disabling PB mode probably won't work as there are a lot of ways to clear personal data via Clear Recent History and on other places in Firefox or directly in the Firefox profile folder.

Best is always to monitor the internet traffic on the OS level or in the router and switch on features to create a log file. Such logging features can't be bypassed.

I am using desktime application on every computer so it's recoding every website that my employees visit. If it's like YouTube or Facebook for example it detects them as unproductive applications. But once the employees enable the private mode that automatically counts them as productive. This is the reason I want the private mode completely off without option to be enabled.

There are two extensions available to disable private browsing. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/disable-private-browsing/ https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/disable-private-browsing-pl/

Both are by the same developer - Richie - who created the first one for the company he works for at the request of a "higher up". I helped test the initial version back in 2011, but Richie ran into some issues with Mozilla not liking the fact that he "hid" the presence of that extension from the people who were using Firefox unless they launched the Firefox SafeMode. And I believe Mozilla "encouraged" him to insert a "warning message" that "Private Browsing has been disabled", because that wasn't in the initial versions that I tested. I lost track of that extension and the changes in it after a few months because it's not useful for me and I don't know why there are two now.

Try one or both and see if one will work in your situation.
