After upgrading to Firefox 30 on my Macbook, I can no longer get the context menu to pop up by hitting Control+Space. After researching a bit, I can't tell if this it is an error or something that was intentionally changed by the developers. Is there a way to restore this as a keyboard shortcut? I've had to downgrade back to 29 in the meantime.

Try to use the old method to hold down left mouse button by setting ui.click_hold_context_menus to true.

The problem is not with using the mouse. I am able to bring it up with a right-click just fine. What I was asking about was using a keyboard shortcut.

I don't know if there is a standard key sequence on Mac to open the context menu. On Windows and Linux I can do this via Shift + F10 or by using the special context menu key on the keyboard positioned to the left of the right Ctrl key, but function keys on Mac do not work in this way and you probably also do not have a keyboard with this key even it this is supported.
