I have followed the instructions for changing settings to prevent sites from asking to allow notifications (as shown in https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/push-notifications-firefox#w_how-do-i-stop-firefox-asking-me-to-allow-notifications and many other sites). Yet, despite having repeated these numerous times over the past few months, I continue to receive these requests. When I again open settings, nothing has changed. It still shows the settings configured to block such requests.

So, why am I still receiving requests from sites to allow notifications? Why doesn't the "Block new requests asking to allow notifications" setting work?

Hello,

You may have seen a post or received a notification regarding support for Firefox or Thunderbird with a link to another site or a phone number being posted. This is a scam and is not a method to receive support from Mozilla. Mozilla does not have telephone or email support. Please do not click on the link and do not interact by calling any phone numbers or email addresses listed. I apologize for any inconvenience caused. You are currently posting on the official Mozilla website and will receive assistance here.

Hi lawrence_russ, recently Firefox changed to a style where an icons jiggles around a bit at the left end of the address bar, but no panel drops down. Are you seeing a panel drop down from the left end of the bar, or some other kind of notification request?
