new install on new computer, program says No Msgs but email online shows them, how to get them downloaded?
New Windows 10 computer, new download and auto configure/install of T-bird. Online email has new messages, however T-bird won't get them. Auto config settings of port 995, SSL/TLS, encrypted password. I tried port 110, none, normal password and that didn't work either. I had this same problem trying to add this same email address to a T-bird program already in progress on an XP system. Any suggestions? I like Thunderbird but need some way to store emails offline.

Juno doesn't offer IMAP access, and encrypted passwords are not necessary. You may have to click Manual config. when you add an account, since TB usually defaults to IMAP settings.
According to their webpage, use pop.juno.com on port 995, SSL/TLS security, authentication = normal password, and User name = email address. For the outgoing server, use smtp.juno.com on port 465, other settings the same as for incoming.

Can you indicate who is the provider? I'd recommend only using IMAP to access your email if possible. Also check if the time/date on your system are correct. If your current date is in the future that could explain not getting any "new" email.
Date and time are correct, set this morning as computer only purchased yesterday. I tried IMAP, that didn't work either. I use juno.com as my provider. I have T-bird on a Win-XP computer, with multiple Juno accounts, and they all perform correctly. I made sure the POP and SMPT info matched other accounts. This email will not download to either version of Thunderbird. I can provide screen-shots once I figure out how to do that. (First-time Win10 user).

That is exactly what the screen shows. I even deleted it, re-downloaded, manual config, and it still doesn't work. It originally defaulted to POP3 setting. Much as I like Thunderbird, I'm about to give up and find another storage solution. Strange thing is, EVERY other email I have, which are also Juno, have the same settings and work fine.
re : and it still doesn't work. If you have not created the mail account for that email address then please create it.
- 'Menu icon' > 'New Message' > 'Existing Mail Account'
- Enter name
- Enter full email address
- Enter password
- select to remember password
- click on 'Continue'
Thunderbird will attempt to look up server settings. It should located POP server settings.
- Click on 'Manual Config' button
- make sure the incoming and outgoing 'user name' is the full email address.
- Create the account by clicking on Done.
Please post the following info so the forum can be sure you have correct server settings: In Thunderbird
- Help > Troubleshooting Information
- Do Not select checkbox 'include account names'
- click on 'copy text to clipboard'
- In this forum question, right click in a 'Post a Reply' text box and select 'Paste'.
- Edit / remove all info on fonts and printers, but nothing else.
Restart Thunderbird. It should look for messages assuming that option is selected. Otherwise click on 'Get Messages'.
What do you see in the bottom 'Status Bar' eg: Logging on, Connecting, Connected etc? Do you get an error message ? If yes, please tell us the message ...word for word or post an image of it.
I finally got it to work but haven't been back on this computer to type a reply. Thanks all, for trying, I had already done everything suggested. Eventually, Juno must have registered the d/l attempts. Message said to uncheck the "download to pop3" option, wait a few minutes, then re-check it. That reset it and it all works now. Thanks again.
