Not sure how many Firefox updates this spans, but quite a few. There have been a few times when crashes were rare, but then they come back in force.

As of now, my add-ons are

Adblock Plus DuckDuckGo Plus Last tab close button LastPass X-notifier Zoom Page

As much as I like Firefox and its philosophy, the crashes have caused me several problems. I don't know what do do -- Firefox is not worth using without the few add-ons I use, but the idea of letting Google or MS run rampant isn't appealing either.

I have no idea what to do. It's hard to see the pattern behind these crashes, some of which strike within a minute, while others occur after a few hours.

There are two unfamiliar (to me) DLL files at the top of the Modules list in each crash:

  • klib.dll - ?
  • nzbrcom32.dll - AhnLab Safe Transaction ?

Sometimes security software (or malware) will inject itself into the Firefox process. I'm not sure if you can identify what those DLLs are associated with. Does AhnLab sound familiar and is that software up-to-date?

As a test, you could rename the Firefox executable file and see whether that works any better (often programs inject based on the exact process name and do not touch other process names).

You can paste this into the Windows 10 "Run" dialog or search box and press Enter to load it:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox"

Make sure Firefox has completely exited (shut down) then:

Right-click firefox.exe and rename it to firefox1.exe

Then double-click it to start it up -- you can edit your desktop shortcut to match later if this turns out to be more stable.

Note: if you can't see the .exe extension, you can set Windows to show all file extensions. See: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/show-hide-file-name-extensions
