How can I remove a virus that changes my homepage?

more options

Recently my homepage is changing to www.viceice.com.After some research I did I found that this is potential spyware so i downloaded some software to clean my PC.This worked for a little bit but now the homepage changed back to www.viceice.com.In addition, it seems that everytime I get this virus firefox changes the theme I have downloaded back to the deafult one.Is there anyway to stop this virus from doing changes to my browser?

Try to use malwarebytes antivirus and scan your computer in safe mode with networking support so you can update malwarebytes to latest version. This should help almost against any virus. And safe mode is necessary so it wont let your virus to escape while being scanned.

The problem now is that for some reason I can't access the safe mode menu.I have tried either tapping or holding the F8 button before the windows logo comes up.Nothing...

Hi, you can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one. Windows 8 has antivirus built-in already.

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Note that not all removal programs will detect all malware, so you may need to run several or all of them.

When the malware is removed you may need to reset your home page which you can do with SearchReset.

Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

Thanks but I decided that I will do a clean install of windows 10 anyway.I'm pretty sure though that what you said would have fixed because when I removed it I did so with a combination of those programs you mentioned.

We can always use more testers for Firefox on Windows 10. Let us know how it goes.
