What has happened to RSS / live feeds in recent versions of Firefox?

I recall Firefox coming with a number of RSS features, including not only the "Subscribe" button but a whole "live feeds" feature (with some kind of documentation) and a pre-built menu entry for RSS feeds.

Now it seems... only the "Subscribe" button survives, and the documentation seems to have been scrubbed of RSS-related entries.

I can't tell if Mozilla has started removing RSS from Firefox, or if I'm just not issuing the correct search keywords in support. I can find articles about RSS in Thunderbird, but not Firefox.

If Firefox is phasing out RSS capabilities, couldn't Mozilla at least post a "migration" / "sunset" article to help users understand what's going on?

Thanks!

You should still have the "Web Feed" entry in "Options/Preferences > Applications" like previous versions have that defaults to "Preview in Firefox". The RSS feed icon can be found in the Customize palette where you probably have found it. There is also a subscribe item in the Bookmarks menu and in the "Show your bookmarks" drop-down list (button next to the star on the location/address bar). So nothing has changed in the Firefox user interface.

These KB articles are no longer maintained, so you are right about the documentation in the SUMO knowledge base. The browser.bookmarks.livemark_refresh_seconds pref is not supported in current releases and you need to use the right-click context menu to reload the feed (Reload Live Bookmark).
