After browsing for a while, Firefox 17.0.1 stops displaying websites properly. An example is on youtube.com there is a whole bunch of text aligned to the right in blue and I can't even watch any videos. When I go into private browsing mode it goes back to normal, but as soon as I switch back to normal browsing it happens again. I've tried deleting all my browsing history and cookies but nothing works.

If you use extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) like Adblock Plus or NoScript or Flash Block that can block content then make sure that such extensions aren't blocking content.

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
