Dear friends, my Firefox is running perfectly on my desktop and laptop, but I don't remember my password and I cannot install it on my phone - what should I do?

I need to find my Firefox Password to be able to install Firefox to my smartphone, too. Is it somewhere in the profile of the program? I entered the Mozilla Support with my credentials automatically (as I do for sync), but I cannot remember my password. Please, help. Thank you!

Hi Sokratis,

don't you have your password saved on about:logins? There should be something for accounts.firefox.com.

You can recover your password on this page: https://accounts.firefox.com/

You shouldn't need a password to install Firefox on a mobile device.

Dear TyDraniu, thank you for your effort, but your advice leads me to change my Firefox Password. I want to find a way to discover my existing password in order to keep my Firefox as it is. :-(

o

I want to thank you too for your generosity, dear cor-el, but I want my password to be able to sync on my phone.

Maybe try to generate a recovery key on desktop and use this recovery key on the mobile device to connect to the Firefox Account.

You misunderstood what TyDrainu told you.

Type about:logins in the URL bar and hit Enter. You'll then be on the Firefox Lockwise page inside the UI; the new Logins Manager page.

In the Search field at the top enter accounts.firefox.com and you see the Username and Password for that domain. Click the "eye" to reveal the text for the Password for that entry.

about:logins

Like TyDraniu said : you should see "accounts.firefox.com" there. If you do, click on the icon that looks like an eye, next to "Password".

Clicking on "accounts.firefox.com" does indeed lead you elsewhere.

Well, my friend, this is my drama. All my logins are in Lockwise, except for "accounts.firefox.com".

Try to filter for 'account' in Lockwise. This entry might only be there if you have actually login manually to the accounts.firefox.com website in the past.

To connect to Sync Firefox uses an hidden entry in the Password Manager (chrome://FirefoxAccounts) that stores the credentials in JSON format.

Note that there is nothing wrong with resetting the password of the Sync account or possibly generate and use the recovery key like I wrote above. You won't lose data on the desktop, but to be safe you can backup.

Hello again Sokratis,

Should the above fail :

Click on your display name or avatar at the top of this page;
then click on "Edit profile". Click on the blue "Manage Firefox Account" button, which
brings up the sign in page. At the bottom click on "Forgot password?".
