Print Selection no longer working for Firefox only using a HP Laserjet 1100

Was working fine yesterday. Is not working today. Print selection prints out content fine with IE but not with Firefox. What has changed from yesterday? How do I fix the problem? Thanks, in advance.

What exactly is going wrong: Is the Selection option available in the print dialog, or grayed out? Does the browser ignore that setting? Is the printout incorrect in some other way?

The header and footer are printing out fine. The "Selected" content on the web page is not printing out at all when using the latest version (i.e. 11.0) of Firefox. HP Tech Support wanted to charge me money to try and diagnose then fix the problem. Not interested in that. I have now uninstalled Firefox 11.0 and then re-installed Firefox 3.6. This version of Firefox is once again allowing me to print out the "Selected" portions of web sites without difficulty. It may just be a compatibility issue with Firefox 11.0 that needs to get fixed for HP Laserjet1100 users like me. Thought?

I don't read all the threads here, but I can't recall another thread where printing whole pages worked normally but printing the selection did not work at all.

If the problem recurs, perhaps you can determine whether it affects some page designs and not others. (Blank space issue: How can I print a selection in Firefox 11 without it wasting paper and printing blank space in place of the non-selected material?.)

What I got with Firefox 11.0 when I tried to do "print selection" with my HP Laserjet1100 was "blank space" between the header and footer information (which printed out fine). No idea why this started happening today. Yesterday it worked properly. Only thing I can think of is an issue of some sort with Firefox 11.0 that doesn't exist with an earlier version. I did not try it with Firefox 10. As I said before ... rather than pay HP Tech Support ... I uninstalled my Firefox 11.0 and re-installed Firefox 3.6, and it seems to be printing out properly again. Thanks for your help, regardless. :-)

dolphinmoon's bug filing: 738373 – I have an HP 2175 all in one printer and since my update I can no longer print "Selection" only.

Another recent bug filing showing progress toward a fix, at least for some scenarios: 736915 – Print Selection prints a blank page when the selection is inside a table in SeaMonkey2.8 & Firefox11 and later.

Please note this Bugzilla etiquette: you can register and vote for a bug to be fixed, but please don't post any "me too" or "why hasn't this been fixed" comments. Comments are emailed to the developers listed on the bug, and "bug spam" can cause people to remove themselves from the bug, which is counterproductive if you want to get it fixed.
