Firefox blocks FedEx tracking
Hello,
I have had a few websites not work properly with Firefox and have needed to open my backup browser (Avast Secure Browser) to use those websites.
Right now it is FedEx that comes to mind again as I kept checking for tracking of packages shipped to me since receiving the tracking info. I queries consistently returned the error message "Unfortunately we are unable to retrieve your tracking results at this time. Please try again later."
Thinking maybe the website was having issues or maintenance (and forgetting I had the same issue with FedEx website the last time I tried tracking there in Firefox), I kept "trying again later".
Then I opened my Avast browser and pasted the same url there and, sure enough, received this report on the display:
Travel History Date or Time City & State Status Monday, April 18, 2022 9:47 PM SPARROWS POINT, MD Departed FedEx location Sunday, April 17, 2022 1:49 PM Shipment information sent to FedEx
I have tried disabling the extension NoScript as well as turning off the "Enhanced tracking protection" and allowing permissions for the FedEx site with no improvement.
I copied and pasted the RAW data as well as the text version from the "about:support" page to send you.
Any suggestions to fix this?
Thank you, Keith McNabb

Thank you Terry- and FredMcD.
I went through the extensions again thoroughly, closing Firefox sometimes after disabling/enabling an item and trying the site again.
What I found is that one of my privacy extensions must be causing a delay with interchange causing query time-out or something?
Anyway, once disabled or after multiple reload/refresh webpage calls, the query returns as expected.
I'm getting too old for this

Marking as solved.

Does it happen if you start Firefox in troubleshoot mode (second link below)? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-and-diagnose-firefox-problems https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/diagnose-firefox-issues-using-troubleshoot-mode https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-extensions-themes-to-fix-problems (also deals with hardware acceleration)

Troubleshooting mode did allow the tracking to work properly.
Almost all addons I use are security related - same is true of my settings.
What should I do next?
Make sure you are not blocking content.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.

That was very good work. Well Done.
If it was an ad blocker causing the problem, Load the web page. After the page is loaded, click the AdBlock icon. Now select Disable on <website>. After, reload the page.
It was actually the "DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials" extension that was the culprit.
I haven't had it terribly long and didn't really think about it much until troubleshooting this issue.
I do have an ad blocker but always check that first or second.
I have the same issue. I was following two FedEx packages and saved them both as pinned tabs in my browser. Did not close the browser yesterday, this morning I get up and refresh the tabs and both are giving me this error (see attached).
Today the same links work. Go figure.
I had problem with Fedex website too. After reading the post about "Duck Duck Go Privacy Essentials" I checked mine. I went to Fedex website then turned off the Site Privacy Protection and it all worked ok then.
Same problem. Works with Chrome. Also on iPhone. Restarting in vanilla mode, all extensions off, removing all data/cookies makes no difference.
I solved this problem by turning off DNS over HTTP and choosing autoselect settings for this network. Close/reopen browser, FedEx tracking now works normally.
Well, I tried this, and it didn't work. I may not have the network chops to understand why it would. I also tried tracking on another system with FFox. Worked once, and not again. I hate it when I need to Chrome. But, sadly, on those few occasions when FF fails, Chrome always works.
thx for you in put.

Hello markeh and others having this and similar issues with Firefox.
Just following up to say that I still seemed to have the issue now and then. I think it worked okay the last time I tracked a FedEx package about 2 weeks ago.
There are other issues with Firefox now that I wasn't having before the last 2 or 3 updates ago. I didn't even bother posting a question for help about it because it appeared I couldn't even find anything while searching for the problem. That new problem is that ONLY in Yahoo! email tab if I click a link to watch a movie OR play audio clip OR try to save a .jpg or other image file, the tab automatically closes. I gave up and just started using other browsers, one of which is Waterfox, based on open source Firefox, seems to work just fine and doesn't close that Yahoo! tab.
Still using Firefox but using a different browser seems like the better choice than trying to fix these bugs on my growing list.
