I think it's due to the incompatibility of the Locationbar² extension with Firefox 44 and higher (according to reviews here). Could you try disabling it on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then find it on the right side and Disable (or remove, as it seems an update is unlikely).

Often a link will appear above a disabled/removed extension to restart Firefox. If you see that, click the link so the change takes effect.

Any improvement?
