Hello and thanks in advance, huge t'bird fan. Using version 31.1.2 with google calendar provider 0.32 and lightning 3.3.1. I was not able to modify a recurring event and got an error message (happens sometimes, usually find a work around or delete and start over).

Then T'bird failed to sign into Google calendar and Google suggested that I might need to enable cookies - but they were already enabled.

Cleared cookies and then tried the developer's suggested combination of Google Calendar Provider and Lightning versions : no luck.

When I right click on Calendar Properties, error message is : The provider for this calendar could not be found. This often happens if you have disabled or uninstalled certain add-ons.

However, add-ons are enabled currently.

Have not seen any examples of this type of problem in forums etc : welcome your suggestions, thanks!

Hi, here is troubleshooting info ; thanks!

hello uploaded 11 jpg files, did you receive them correctly?

Thanks, but that's only a fraction of it. You can copy the information and paste it into your reply. There's no need to create a screenshot for this.

From the Troubleshooting Information it looks like both, Lightning and Provider are installed properly. Can you confirm you do see the Google Calendar in Lightning? Are there any errors upon start up? Can you check how you set-up the Google Calendar? See https://blog.mozilla.org/calendar/2013/09/google-is-changing-the-location-url-of-their-caldav-calendars/ for set-up instructions.

I pasted the content into the browser window and got an error message saying that size limits had been exceeded

Actually I can't see Lightning : it shows up as enabled in add-ons and I do see a "Calendar" icon in Calendar/Tools/Options, but it's not Lightning. Where is Lightning??

Yes, there is an error message on start up :

An error was encountered preparing the calendar located at googleapi://lane@dusserre.com/?calendar=lane%40dusserre.com&tasks=%40default for use. It will not be available.

I did check the Google Calendar set-up and this article does not appear to be applicable : the location of the calendar shows that it is not caldev : link starts with googleapi...

You're right. My fault, apologies for that.

I do see a "Calendar" icon in Calendar/Tools/Options, but it's not Lightning.

I'm not sure I do understand that. Can you post a screenshot? http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-create-screenshot-my-problem

Yes, there is an error message on start up :

You could try to delete the Google Calendar in Lightning, restart Thunderbird, and then re-create the calendar. No data will be lost, as all events are stored on the server.

Make sure cookies for google.com are allowed.

When it's called 'Calendar' instead of Lightning, that's fine. It actually is Lightning. Your 'LANE' calendar isn't enabled. Check the box in the left pane to enable it.

OK, so I do have Lightning - it seems like it used to actually say Lightning - but Lane Calendar is grayed-out and can't be enabled.

When I right click on it, error message is :

The provider for this calendar could not be found. This often happens if you have disabled or uninstalled certain addons.

Still need to delete Calendar, re-start Thunderbird and re-create Calendar. Will do this and report back.

this problem has occured to quite a few people in the last couple of days. MY thunderbird loads fine, I was asked to login to google via a pop up window a few days ago but didn't realise it could have been an issue. Now I load up my calendar which is the lightning plugin and also google provider is up to date and loaded. BUT my calendar is wiped clean. The only events that show are a few I have added as tests yesterday by either adding them on my iphone or on google calendar online, both cases synced to my Tbird/lightning calendar fine as if nothing had changed. The only MAJOR problem is that the years of events and future events that are on my google calendar written before yesterday do not appear on my Tbird/lightning calendar. I have been watching a few threads on this as it seems other are having the same issue. I am getting NO error messages it just does not sync other than items that were written from the point of yesterday.

How exactly do I delete Google calendar in Lightning please?

When I right click on Lane Calendar in Tbird, the "delete" option is grayed out...thanks

The problem may be with the 'Provider for Google Calendar' extension. Try to uninstall and re-install that first via the Add-On Manager. Note, you must restart Thunderbird after uninstall and after install.
