Hello,

I have freshly installed Thunderbird (on my D-drive) and the profiles (2) also are located on my D-drive (I have many mails and don't want all that on my C-drive).

Almost every time, like now, I try to start Thunderbird, it just hangs (on whatever account I start it). I have the Windows blue circle and it doesn't get mails or anything.

I tried to start it in safe mode, no change.

I don't have any antivirus, I don't have any anti-malware. This computer is two weeks old and I am running Windows 10 Pro.

The only thing that worked for me was to reinstall Thunderbird. But this is not a viable option in the long run.

What can I do?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Regards,

Cyril

Is it possible with the new setup and large profiles, that TB is building the index for either or both of the global search or Windows search? See items 4. and 9. here.

Hello,

Thank you for your answer.

It looks like disabling Windows Search service fixed the problem.

Thank you very much :)
